English Garden Wedding

There is going to be an
ENGLISH GARDEN WEDDING
and not only am I invited
but I am so blessed
to also be the
WEDDING PLANNER!

so to look my best I have chosen this great vintage hat for myself,
at Stella Designs, you see
this is my client's daughter's wedding, and has I had the privilege
to decorate their house and the grounds...

They also asked me to plan the wedding.
In fact the color scheme is similar to their living room below that I designed...

Think 1920's Art Deco, English Garden, a touch of French, meets young Great Gatsby's soiree in Newport, Rhode Island. I just love the William Morris English wallpaper with the curvy Swedish clock and custom made furniture...

My Party dress is picked, my shoes selected. Can you picture me around my house practicing
walking in these?

I'll take plenty of pictures and post them.
Thanks...
Karen

An Irish Blessing

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and your family
from the Doyle Family.
My Family, The Doyles', came from a quaint village in Ireland.
Doyle, is my maiden name which I have always kept
and we
even have our own Doyle Irish knit pattern...

and a Doyle insignia...

and here is my Son, Doyle,
with his lovely girlfriend, Ivy,
confused yet? Doyle is my son's first name...

We hope that you are surrounded by your loved ones this
holiday, and maybe a leprechaun or two
(actually a candle I created for the occasion)

here at the homestead we hope to see a leprechaun for good luck.
The Brayton Homestead is named after the Brayton Family
who built the house in 1796.

hope you followed this, even I am confused,
so from all of us, including Krumpet in his tartan cap

HAVE A BLESSED ST. PATRICK'S DAY.

"Junket Krumpet"
named after you know who..
There are other pieces almost finished,

and perfect for Silver Sunday at

... here is my newest necklace, I call the The Alice Spoon. A collage made up of an old spoon and hardware findings . It's a little French, a bit steam punk and all vintagedchic.

My Little Sitting Area

Welcome to one of my favorite seating areas in my home, the Brayton Homestead, circa 1796. This spot is located in the center front of the house; with some stretching you can view the Taunton River.

A small space, the top hall landing to be accurate.
My attempt was to create a space to linger or to look out at the water. I think it has
a bit of a French flair, do you?

So I am linking with the beautiful
French Cupboard's
Vintage Inspiration post

here vintage needlepoint on my walls and pillows,
and a bench I created from
salvage pieces..

even the door to a bedroom is adorned with vintage needlepoint, my favorite textile,
and a set of old suitcases just waiting to be needed...

Original shutters from the cellar make a wonderful folding screen
while hooks from my kitchen's pot and pans rack
allow me to rearrange pictures easily, such as my watercolor painting a of a stone cupid statue and of course vintage needlepoint!
