Airstream Travel

I keep day dreaming about traveling about the country in a vintage Airstream trailer. Of course, in this dream the inside is perfectly appointed to the era right down to the dishes, fabrics, linens and knickknacks. Always need knickknacks; or maybe I would pick them up along my travels. I envision dining at a boomerang patterned Formica table, the seat cushions covered in a mid century modern geometric barkcloth fabric while eating a casserole from turquoise melamine plates, the only decision that remains is where to travel first.....

On Pointe

She tires after a long ‘On Pointe’ ballet session, her dance studio located in a marvelous Art Nouveau building in Paris. After so many pirouettes on the antique oak floor she wonders how many ballerinas must have danced on it before her to achieve such a perfectly worn patina…

Magnolia Pearl

Enjoy the soft colors and textures in the work of Robin Brown, owner of Magnolia Pearl. It is difficult to discern what I love most in this summer bedroom. The chippy columns that ascend to the wonderful tin ceiling? The mix of textured laces in hues of vanilla, almond and coffee (yum)? Perhaps the door adorned with a mirror left open to catch a summer breeze or the use of recycled materials? An overall cozy calm feeling is my favorite feature, what is yours?...

Ocean Side B&B

This was what I first gazed upon when entering the back yard of the ocean view Bed & Breakfast. To me the wonderful vignette of three lounge chairs lined in a row looked like a big piece of pastel ribbon candy. There by invitation only to attend a wine tasting, inn tour and the enjoy the panorama of the Atlantic Ocean, it was a splendid time. Delicious food, great wines but most enjoyable where the boats sailing to and fro in the harbor of New Bedford, Massachusetts, rich with whaling history.
Enjoy...

Happy Summer

Summer is passing by quickly, I hope you are having a wonderful time soaking it all in. Take time to sip a cold beverage under the blue sky and a charming chandelier surrounded by flowers.....

Mentioned last post how I love leopard print, pretty sure it started here with Pebbles Flintstone. Oh, that and my mom loved it, wore it and tastefully decorated our house with it.
Thanks Mom, you are my inspiration...

Vanity Clues

Atop her vanity a jewelry box overflows with mementos and memories; a violin pin her son gave her, a Mother pin she had given her Mom, a stain glass mirror from my friend Lisa and my favorite photo of my twin brother (on the left) and me ~tucked in the corner. Have I mentioned I love leopard?

Can a vanity top or jewelry box reveal something about a person? I think mine says I love vintage and pink, but you knew that by my blog. Nothing valuable, enjoy my baubles...
What does yours say about you?

Climbing Roses

She walks out the front door of her pink hued brownstone onto Newbury Street . Oh, so many choices here in Boston, Massachusetts. Before she decides on breakfast she stops to smell the fragrant roses winding up the ornate wrought iron railing. Coffee, croissant and the newspaper at an outdoor cafe on Newbury Street will be perfect.
Have a wonderful weekend...

My Junior Prom

Have been so nostalgic lately, even more than usual. My last post of the striking daisy wallpaper made me think of the flowers I wore at my junior prom. A garland of daisies on my head, a handsome boyfriend, Wayne, by my side~ Oh, what wonderful memories!
Happy Birthday to my sister Aggie and to Wayne whom we miss..............

La Chambre de Bébé

La chambre de bébé, even the name is magical. Baby's bedroom, or in this case the most enchanting nursery I have ever seen. Isn't the wallpaper incredible? Look closely to spot the mobile emerging from the daisies.
