Up High in a Turret

Imagine the inhabitant of this sherbet toned Victorian charmer. She paints away the days high in the turret, her yorkie by her side. Oops, I daydream...
Isn't this painting wonderful? It is created by the artist Kim VanDerHoek. All Kim's work seems magical to me~ soft, and soothing yet powerful in message and technique. Visit her lovely blog to see her other fine work, you'll love her paintings too. I must get back to my turret in the sky.......

Never purchased art from a gallery before but this makes me reconsider- I love art and especially this beautiful painting.

I agree with you, her paintings are so beautiful and the images seem to be relaxed yet bold.

Lovely! The entire painting is beautiful, but I love that you can see all the brush strokes.

Oil paintings always fascinated me. This particular painting is very soothing.

Hi Karen,

I stopped by your blog the other day after you left me a comment about posting my painting here. My son must have distracted me because I got side-tracked and forgot to leave a comment here and say thank you.

Thank you very much for posting my painting and for the sweet write-up too! I appreciate it so very much.

That is a beautiful painting, but anywhere is a magical place to be when your yorkie is by your side, it doesn't have to be a turret!

Wouldn't being able to decorate the turret room (with presumably 360 degrees of windows) be awesome?

yes, it would be awesome to decorate Jeanne! What would you do?
