BARN CHICK PARTY!!!

Take my hand, come with me to a world of pure imagination. Don't be scared- but beware- there are thrills and chills and lots of barn pics. (Above is a illustration that I drew and was published )

It all began, my love for barns, when I moved into the Brayton Homestead, circa 1796, shown here in an old photo I found on ebay. If you look closely you can see the barn that used to be in back of the house. Sadly, it was torn down along time ago. But I want to someday to put one back.
Barns can have a profound eeeeefect on people...

What else would have taken beautiful Julie Marie from Idyllhours,
this month's quest host of this
Barn Chick Party...

to Bootiful Julie Marie?
You must visit her wonderful blog...

As I walk up a hill with just a glimpse of an old barn

I must go closer and closer...

up really close this barns is just waiting to be rescued...

others barns are for rocking....

and some are for weddings.
You may remember that my twin brother was married
in a barn turned restaurant and few Octobers past.

what a grand and great wedding it was.

then last year my twin, Kevin's (right)
son Korey (on left)
actually married on Halloween!
my what fun and so beautiful...

could not resist to make a bridal card...

can you imagine that crusty BARN hardware like this

can be transformed into
gorgeous hardware for lovely barn doors inside?
This is our 3rd Barn Chick Party- it started here..

always keep in mind,
that some places
look haunted but may not be...
and others seem safe
but may not be!

but wherever you call home
A BARN CHICK PARTY
will never be far away
please come on back to my blog on November 10th for the next party.
and THANKS JULIE MARIE!

The Brayton Homestead is so lovely. That you found that image on ebay is simply amazing. I want you to know how much I enjoy going all over two states taking photos of barns, often without permission, it is a great pleasure. hugs♥olive

What a lovely home you have. How lucky to find an old photo of it. I love old barns too. We almost had a chance to buy my DH grandmothers home W/9 acres & there was an old old barn on it. but it was not to be. sadly the property was sold to a stranger who divided it up, barn burned down & 4 more houses built on the land.
I am new to these parties, so Not really sure what to do. I will visit the chicks over on Julie Marie's blog, so beautiful! I love the stories! I usually only do a Wednesday post as I am wordy & that is all my brain can conjure up! LOL! I hope to meet more of the lovely ladies (DogsMom has been trying to get me to come to parties) here is my link if you care to see what I like to do. I will have to learn the party rules ;)

Your second pic really got me-can't believe you got that on ebay-how very exciting. I know what you mean about things that used to be in pic. My husband gave away(yes gave away a barn -before we got married-to the neighbhor and I want it back and he also tore down a smokehouse-and their is more but I don't think I can talk about it anymore. So I really understand! I just try and take care and treasure what I have and you have something great too!

Hi Karen
What a fabulous post! That barn all decorated is absolutely gorgeous... I only wish there was one like that available when I got married (Oct 29th) although we did have bales of hay and pumpkins and cornstalks at the entrance of the country club :-)Love the bridal card you created & the image of the hands is fantastic ♥

I remember seeing those driving through the Tennessee country side on our way to Georgia. What fun. Have a great weekend!! Hugs for Krumpet.

So glad you were able to party with us.
How interesting that barn weddings seem to run in your family. I am going to learn digital art in the near future. Your card is inspired.
Want to compliment more but there's a cat on my keyboard.

Beautiful images. And I love how people are taking old barns (and other old buildings) and converting them into useful businesses these days...It means alot to people who appreciate the quality of those buildings, as well as the preversation of them.
