Basket drawers new to my old kitchen

New kitchen basket drawers were added to 

my old homestead kitchen.

and it is not easy making any changes to a house circa 1796...

but I been picturing them for quite some time..

this is the space that I had to work with.

removed 1970's drawers completely off their tracks!

Now open freely and I love them beside my 

CHALKBOARD painted fridge.

hold frequently used white ironstone dishes and platters. 

Even recycled all the old wood to make them.

Weekend Thanks

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

sharing some homestead photos from last summer.

Only just started to dress up the Brayton Homestead  now..

will be recreating this again, old suitcase with flowers,

but that one rotted, oh well...

it is such an easy house to decorate...

I think it's age just gives it character,

planted roses along the front stone wall last year

and added these big red gates...

this year a big expensive new roof, yikes...

spending time with my son and family top my list of favorite pastimes always....

A wonderful start to a wonderful week,

I finally picked my gown for my son's wedding in October!
