happy birthday Poe

Attended an afternoon event aptly named

" Once Upon an Afternoon Dreary:

a Celebration of the 201st Birthday of Edgar Allan Poe...

at the beautiful Fall River Public library

in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Three talented staff members recited the poetry and short stories of Poe,

this gothic poet born in Boston, MA...

David Mello performed and read "The Tell Tale Heart"

How powerful, incredible and convincing in this role, well done...
all at the library for free...

So Happy Birthday to Edgar Allen Poe

1.19.1809

thanks...

Oh Karen! I just tried posting a comment but it got eaten up! Lovely post and I see why I loved living in Mass.. so much. There is a wealth of beautiful American history whispered in these great museums and homes. Perhaps Poe had many a dreary night and day to compose his works...such classics don't come easy. Thank you for coming to visit me; it really means a lot to me. Merci! ANita

oh how fun and interesting! I personally enjoy Christopher Walkens reading of 'The Raven.' Something about that man's voice is quite creepy.

I love Poe. I went to University of Virginia, and they have his room enshrined and the door glassed so you can look in. There's a raven in there, too (taxidermied, of course!)

I read the person who leave a bottle of spirits and one read rose for the past many years, did not show up this year. A lot of people were waiting to see him/her too, but they never came.

that is true Little Lovables, no one came to leave the items, people were waiting but no one came.
thank you for sharing..
