What to choose?

Even I, an Interior Designer, ponder on decorating decisions. Began putting together ideas for my master bathroom renovation. Even in a small bathroom every selection counts! I want this beautiful ceramic hand painted Slavko " Old French style sink" .http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9330610. So perfect to adjoin my bedroom, featured earlier “Paris Flea Market Bedroom”. Do you agree?

Neverland

Come sail away with me to Neverland, or fly. Don't you love this chandelier? What it is about the juxtaposition of an elaborate light fixture that glimmers in an otherwise understated room that works so well? Look close at those lovely metal chairs, love! All that glamour atop a simple painted floor. Oh........

So nostalgic today- had to share a picture of my two older sisters. Better sisters could not be imagined. Dressed in their Easter outfits, is this not precious!!

Loving Dad

I am hoping you are enjoying my blog, maybe a decorating tip, viewing an artists' work or just looking. Forgive a somber moment, I wanted to share that today is the anniversary of my dad's passing 39 years ago. I write this as it was yesterday. What a wonderful and loving dad, highly respected police Detective and loved gentleman. Sadly missed. thanks..

Memories of Paris Carousel

Closing my eyes and remembering taking this picture of the lovely carousel in Paris! It was so enchanting, oh wait,
I can hear the music too!. Enjoy....
p.s. this was taken outside of the Hotel de Ville, "city hall " on Rue de Rivoli. There was a majestic ceremony of men in uniforms on horseback in the background of the carousel.

Spring, finally......

HAPPY HAPPY SPRING!!
Go outside and play in the dirt!! Start thinking about your outside rooms! Love the work of Freida Maria. Many years ago my sister brought a pencil outline of my foot to Holland and returned with a custom made pair of wood clogs for me. My sister is the most wonderful person. I still have the clogs; they are more comfortable than you would think. But, they are wood!
More decorating tips tomorrow....

Pare down

A fresh spring look can be obtained by paring down your rooms. OK, this pic may be extreme, but isn't it inviting? An old rule is to go around your house and remove three things, you will see and feel the difference. Recognize earlier tip of adding greenery? A gorgeous chaise lounge never hurts either!
Thanks for checking my design tips ~ more to come....

Quintessential Spring!

Happy Monday!
Thank you for stopping by for the Tip of the day.
Could there be anything more spring-like than flowers? Placing flowers in a room brings in nature and breathes life! Try placing them in unexpected containers like pitchers or tureens other than vases. Consider displaying your arrangement in your kitchen and bedrooms not just on the dining room table.
Come back soon for more decorating tips. Leave a comment to let me know you are enjoying my blog. Thanks…

Spring Decorating Tip

Lighten up! A major change you can make to any room to give it a fresh springtime look is to make a change on your floor! You might not have consider this surface when you are decorating, but switching your heavier oriental or braided rugs to a natural fiber carpet with less color and pattern will make a difference. Affordable sisal or jute carpets can easily be found at local retailers or ordered from catalogs such as Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel.

Lighten up

I am not suggesting that you rip up your wall to wall but you can layer a small sisal carpet over your existing carpet and under a coffee table~ otherwise it will creep around. I sometimes take away my carpet and leave the floor bare, although this look is not for everyone.
Come back soon for another decorating tip. Thank you and enjoy!

Thought I would post another photo of my bedroom the bunny rabbit jar paper mache jar was photographed in. I love things that are a bit worn and show their age.
