wising you a wonderful weekend, next week we will be celebrating the Fourth of July.
Oh, and my birthday too!

My wish is to spend time with my wonderful son,
and my family then leisurely wile the day away...

followed by cake and a nap

A deer visitor

While watching an old English mini series on netfix at my friends house the other day a deer came right up to the house- a house with large expanses of glass.

Clearly he saw us gawking, yet continued his dinner of grasses anyway. Wow, not a car in the world. And he was beautiful.
We are watching the 20 part English mini series THE GRAND.

he looked like this!

I can see if we were in the remote part of the country, or maybe camping...

a fun treat for all, even Krumpet enjoyed the view and the popcorn snack!

More Attic inspiration

sweet, simplistic and so inviting a use for an attic space...

a light flooded attic as an art studio would be sensational, love to get back to my painting..

an attic space as a huge closet with room to dream, can you imagine?

loving this attic/ loft room. have always wanted to turn my attic into a magical space such as this.
The combination of old barn board, wood beams. plaster walls and fabulous bed makes me swoon.
Your thoughts?

but barn doors to close off a portion of space could give the opportunity to have a bedroom and art studio, so many ideas....

Recycle/ Reinvent

I LOVE this idea for hanging planters! Reinvent/ Recycle old pretty glass light shades originally part of a ceiling fixture. Multiples look inviting together! Have been seeing these around for years, now am on the lookout!

Your home your castle...

They say a person's home is their castle, I can agree with that.

I try to offer items at Brayton Cottage to make your home beautiful at a good price...

William Morris' quote says it best...

If I were asked to say what is at once
the most important production of art
and the thing we most longed for,
I should answer,
A beautiful house.

Makes me Smile

An oversized hat with huge floral blossoms makes me smile, I could so wear that, really...

Crumbly walls in pinkish purple make me smile, I could so live there, really..

pink hair, makes me smile, if I were 10 years younger I would so do that, really...

orchids, one of nature's finest flowers makes me sigh and smile, if I could actually keep one alive I would raise them, really,

What makes you smile today?

Pink Lemonade

Love this outdoor setting. A pink upholstered couch has to be the epitome of luxurious outside entertainment. Cloth lampshades of linen, burlap and ruffles do not even seem out of place to me.
Oh, what a party this would be...

Only a pink glass filled with pink lemonade would do. The touch of a real pink rose and striped vintage style straw, magical!

What else but relax after the party in an old vintage chair with your own parasol. Needlepoint, my favorite textiles, adorns a pillow and footstool ( look close to notice the dainty white trim around the stool).
Have a Wonderful Weekend!

Reds remind me of summer...

Reds
remind me of summer time. I never really like the color but now I wear so much red and my  kitchen is saturated in it. Well, white is slowly taking over the kitchen, but a nice balance  right now.

Brayton Cottage
is featuring reds now for the season. I now adore red roses and attempting to grow them at the homestead...

Come by
if you have time and thanks.

Daisies and bike rides...

Daisies and bike rides are what I wish for your weekend, or your translation of a wonderful time...

That you get all you need to accomplish and have quantities of time
remaining...

I am looking for the perfect old bike to meander around town on,  Krumpet snuggled in roomy  basket. A picnic on route of hot tea accompanied with

or back at the homestead would completes an idealistic day to me.
