Happy Memorial Day weekend!

sharing some homestead photos from last summer.

Only just started to dress up the Brayton Homestead  now..

will be recreating this again, old suitcase with flowers,

but that one rotted, oh well...

it is such an easy house to decorate...

I think it's age just gives it character,

planted roses along the front stone wall last year

and added these big red gates...

this year a big expensive new roof, yikes...

it is not totally working yet, needs more welding.

Did you know that you can make any paint color into a solid stain

like this one?

but it will be ready to greet my family on the holiday

cannot wait to open the gates on

So excited I had to share with you a sketch I made for gates in the front of my house. Wanted to add gates to the granite columns of the stone wall openings for the driveway. Originally, the gates were made of iron. As I do not have the them, and I prefer a more rustic look, I designed them to be made of wood. I saw them in the progress of being made today, so excited...
