Sepia Sisters

TWO sisters TWO real live angels!
angels sold, sorry

Who watches out for you? I have already posted that for me it is my two older sisters,
AGGIE & COLLEEN
Sister Colleen is on the far left~ Aggie is the middle
beautiful aren't they?
I am still years from being born yet.

When I was a young girl, my sisters 15 & 16 years older than me, I went to see this movie
WHERE ANGELS GO.. TROUBLE FOLLOWS
and
there were my two sisters on the screen, well not really...

You see my sister Colleen, shown here with her husband Richie,
were married when I was three.

Colleen always has a smile and beautiful oval face with curly dark hair.
Yet, she reminds me of the blond in the movie. Yes, blonde.

Colleen & Richie just celebrated their
50th Wedding Anniversary!

To the right is my sister Aggie, who was the maid of honor. She has on the original
veil from the wedding. Colleen's I made for the party. Will share more of the celebration later...

Aggie was once a nun
a wonderful school teacher
and always is a great sis...

she has quite a sense of humor
a bit mischievous even

and still wears her hair short...

I remember when I was about 6 my parents brought
my twin brother and I to see Aggie at college in New York,
UNEXPECTED!
Ag and the girls where having a party for a girl just engaged in her dorm
toilet paper was strewn everywhere the eye could see
a white cloud that I will never forget!

So fitting that when my sister Aggie got up to give the toast at
Colleen and Richie's anniversary party
she rolled out a roll of toilet paper and said

" let me list all the many reasons that makes
C & R's relationship so special..."

AM I LUCKY , for sure.

Parisian Whites

Love all tones of white.
Especially ones that remind me of that special sunlight of Paris
captured here in a vintage book from the Louvre now in my shop

When I visit again
I know what I would like to wear and what my cottage interior
will look like ~ it's all on my

I'll wrap my hair in a French Twist
in a lovely bonnet
with this
vintage French hat pin

while shopping in Paris
I would don a Chanel jacket with a vintage

and return every evening to my cottage
just outside of
PARIS

Thank you all for visiting the cottage
my shop, that is...

The Munsters

Have I ever mentioned that I met Grandpa Munster, Al Lewis? He was quite cool! I was not a young girl, this thrill occurred about 12 years ago. Yes, I was that artist child who loved the Munsters!

Have you heard they might produce a remake?

BARN CHICK PARTY!!!

Take my hand, come with me to a world of pure imagination. Don't be scared- but beware- there are thrills and chills and lots of barn pics. (Above is a illustration that I drew and was published )

It all began, my love for barns, when I moved into the Brayton Homestead, circa 1796, shown here in an old photo I found on ebay. If you look closely you can see the barn that used to be in back of the house. Sadly, it was torn down along time ago. But I want to someday to put one back.
Barns can have a profound eeeeefect on people...

What else would have taken beautiful Julie Marie from Idyllhours,
this month's quest host of this
Barn Chick Party...

to Bootiful Julie Marie?
You must visit her wonderful blog...

As I walk up a hill with just a glimpse of an old barn

I must go closer and closer...

up really close this barns is just waiting to be rescued...

others barns are for rocking....

and some are for weddings.
You may remember that my twin brother was married
in a barn turned restaurant and few Octobers past.

what a grand and great wedding it was.

then last year my twin, Kevin's (right)
son Korey (on left)
actually married on Halloween!
my what fun and so beautiful...

could not resist to make a bridal card...

can you imagine that crusty BARN hardware like this

can be transformed into
gorgeous hardware for lovely barn doors inside?
This is our 3rd Barn Chick Party- it started here..

always keep in mind,
that some places
look haunted but may not be...
and others seem safe
but may not be!

but wherever you call home
A BARN CHICK PARTY
will never be far away
please come on back to my blog on November 10th for the next party.
and THANKS JULIE MARIE!

Newport Mansion

Take a twirl with me around this grand Newport mansion, The Elms. Marble glistens, cherubs delight, a party will be here soon...

I am so fortunate to leave within an hour of the glorious Newport Mansions. Everywhere you look is a treat for the eye.

Soaring high ceilings punctuated with luscious tasseled valances with flowing damask draperies make my heart flutter...

Beautiful brass sconces hold unusual half shades creating a perfect glow to the marble sculptures. Doesn't it feel as if a party is about to start? Well you would be right. The new Barn Chick Party will be guest hosted for me at Idyllhours this Friday...

Please accompany me to the party, enchantment will ensue...

oh, I wish I had my Magnolia Pearl bloomers to wear to the
BARN CHICK PARTY!

thank you Faded Charm's White Wednesday.
