Relax and Unwind

Hello, thanks for visiting.
Don't you just love the weekends?

a perfect time to relax if you are lucky. Get lost in the novel you have been wanting  to read...

and  surround yourself in comfort.

My plan is to do all of this and listen to some Adele.

Always on my list is to spend some time with my wonderful son,

Hoping your weekend and week allows you to escape!

TAKE A LOOK: MY CLIENT"S KITCHEN!

Sharing a client's kitchen I decorated.
This project included selecting all finishes: tile, counter tops, lighting, paint, furniture,
window treatments, art, accessories, etc...

Roosters are the theme all year round with beaded fruit and greens perfect
for fall into the holiday season.

Tiffany style ceiling lights add a vintage glow to the room to enhance the
more functional down spot lighting a kitchen requires.
Hope you enjoy and have a great week...

MY HOMESTEAD: LIBRARY CIRCA 1796

Can you hear the faint sound of violins?

a casual violin concert at the homestead , circa 1796, was a dream.
vintage chairs lined up waiting for guests...

tapestry and burlap pillows for the music lovers that selected the Victorian sofa...

Sunshine streams into the library...

there was even an audience of ceramic dogs enjoying the music.

spaniels and of course yorkies...

on my parent's 25th wedding anniversary silver tray...

a lovely time...

hope you enjoyed,
Karen

inspiration

What inspires you?

Long after I posted about inspiration boards I have been wanting to make one. I make design boards for my client so why not make one for for my ideas and wishes.

Gisele would say "Do not just dream about it ~visualize it coming true and it will"

So here are my inspirations~ fresh flowers always around the house, continued family meals around the table with great conversation, get back to knitting, etc.. Not all are literal translations of the photos but a feeling or emotion.

OK , yes,
there is the photo and expectation of
owning a French Chateau...

Time

This is such a perfect time right now
after the hustle and bustle of the holiday...

A chance to reflect on the time spent with family and friends,

postpone thinking about the new year and cherish the time right now.

Workspace Wednesday IV

Isn't this workspace tucked into a little nook delightful? Equipped with laptop and printer, file cabinet and shelving, it has all you could desire. All rooms need a chandelier, don't you think? A charming slip covered chair, a voluminous curtain, a sweet lamp and personal mementos create a lovely setting that I could work at all day! enjoy...

Happy Summer

Summer is passing by quickly, I hope you are having a wonderful time soaking it all in. Take time to sip a cold beverage under the blue sky and a charming chandelier surrounded by flowers.....

Mentioned last post how I love leopard print, pretty sure it started here with Pebbles Flintstone. Oh, that and my mom loved it, wore it and tastefully decorated our house with it.
Thanks Mom, you are my inspiration...

Paris Flea Market Visit

Oh, she sighs, what decisions. Shall she purchase the Victorian passementerie or the vintage vegetable garden print? Hungry after her excursion at the Paris Flea Market on such a lovely Saturday in Paris she must have a bite to eat in order to forge on to more antique stalls.
Café Paul Bert, conveniently located near her favorite market Marche Serpette, will do quite nicely. She cannot help but think how wonderful the red and tan bistro chairs would look in her homestead kitchen. Yes, a bowl of hot onion soup will be perfect , then more shopping. Please enjoy pictures from my Paris trip, I would love to be there now…..

A Study in White

Passed under the Parisian white limestone archway with it's kaleidoscope of colored glass tiles and cascades of Della Robbia carved flowers while shopping in Paris.

With a Parisian salon feel, Shabby Chic slipcovers and sisal carpet refresh a living room.
White, cream, taupe and pink, so welcoming, Tres` chic.

White and pink with robin's egg blue for accent. The painted blue stair runner balances the contrasts of the formal and informal.

Neverland

Come sail away with me to Neverland, or fly. Don't you love this chandelier? What it is about the juxtaposition of an elaborate light fixture that glimmers in an otherwise understated room that works so well? Look close at those lovely metal chairs, love! All that glamour atop a simple painted floor. Oh........
