Newport Mansion
Take a twirl with me around this grand Newport mansion, The Elms. Marble glistens, cherubs delight, a party will be here soon...
I am so fortunate to leave within an hour of the glorious Newport Mansions. Everywhere you look is a treat for the eye.
Soaring high ceilings punctuated with luscious tasseled valances with flowing damask draperies make my heart flutter...
Beautiful brass sconces hold unusual half shades creating a perfect glow to the marble sculptures. Doesn't it feel as if a party is about to start? Well you would be right. The new Barn Chick Party will be guest hosted for me at Idyllhours this Friday...
Please accompany me to the party, enchantment will ensue...Friday, May 14, 2010

Workspace Wednesday IV
Isn't this workspace tucked into a little nook delightful? Equipped with laptop and printer, file cabinet and shelving, it has all you could desire. All rooms need a chandelier, don't you think? A charming slip covered chair, a voluminous curtain, a sweet lamp and personal mementos create a lovely setting that I could work at all day! enjoy...

Magnolia Pearl
Enjoy the soft colors and textures in the work of Robin Brown, owner of Magnolia Pearl. It is difficult to discern what I love most in this summer bedroom. The chippy columns that ascend to the wonderful tin ceiling? The mix of textured laces in hues of vanilla, almond and coffee (yum)? Perhaps the door adorned with a mirror left open to catch a summer breeze or the use of recycled materials? An overall cozy calm feeling is my favorite feature, what is yours?...

Happy Summer
Summer is passing by quickly, I hope you are having a wonderful time soaking it all in. Take time to sip a cold beverage under the blue sky and a charming chandelier surrounded by flowers.....
Mentioned last post how I love leopard print, pretty sure it started here with Pebbles Flintstone. Oh, that and my mom loved it, wore it and tastefully decorated our house with it.Thanks Mom, you are my inspiration...

A Study in Blue
You have been daydreaming of a long bath all day. Beautiful white peonies and a plush white towel await you. Wall sconces are dimmed and reflected in the gorgeous over sized mirror, time to unwind...
As you journey to your sitting room you can't help to look up to admire the glass chandelier that reminds you of a big blue iced cupcake...
You have arrived ~ so relax, smell the flowers and enjoy a good book.*Check the fab blog Paris Hotel Boutique to see the chandelier & more.

A Study in White
Passed under the Parisian white limestone archway with it's kaleidoscope of colored glass tiles and cascades of Della Robbia carved flowers while shopping in Paris.Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Martha's Vineyard

Aqua colored walls reflect the cool ocean while wood tones warm the space. One large room satisfies dining and leisure. After a day at the beach or one of Kara’s gourmet meals the comfy sectional beckons!

"My Bedroom" (sorry Dana Evan) is yellow and peach, am I not lucky?
Kara found and purchased on island a CD of the band, Nouvell Vague, whose soothing song she heard on a blog. Unlike that song, this CD contained dramatic songs like “Bella Lugosi Died” and “The Human Fly” that sound like the names imply. Made for fun listening on the ride home. thanks~ buzz buzz buzz….
*added the "Human Fly" song to the bottom of my playlist*

Birds and Bunnies
Pink walls, green chairs and a beautiful toile tablecloth create a lovely setting for dining any time, especially for Easter. So perfect that after you have overeaten you may rest on the pink settee in the background, along with pillows for everyone, they thought of everything.Image: Real Living
Don’t these sweet birdies circling the chandelier look like they are chirping a happy tune? Dripping with glass crystals and adorned with the most beautiful Art Deco style lamp shades this chandelier can certainly illuminate my Easter table!Image: Real Living
All these Easter colors reminded of a photograph I had taken in Montreal. Outrageous pink birds with bright yellow head feathers certainly caught my idea in this store window. Who knew artificial birds could have such visual impact?Image: Brayton Homestead Interiors
