MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Can you see me, Krumpet with all the gifts?

Mom has been wrapping all day and she is still not done! New gifts
nestle with old toys she collects...

I think I am waiting quite patiently. Blue paper for one nephew, pink for a niece. I got a new toy too!
Our tree has ornaments old and new, mostly old. Many handmade treasure from Doyle over the years.
An old fashion tree with a jumble of colors and materials works best in our living room, well that's what I was told.

Glad you could visit us, I think I am going to get another treat now,
so bye and Merry Christmas.

You should visit these great blog parties too.

POLKA DOTS: VERSATILE WONDERS!

I |  just  | love |  polka | dots |

Do You?

When decorating, polka dots coordinate nicely with stripes and solids.
I like to mix them with plaids and tapestries too but a bit more thought is needed to make it work.

polka dots can be nostalgic or whimsical...

handmade or vintage...

I especially love red and white polka dots!

the color combination is perfect.
Can be seen in decorating, fashion and nature. Polka dots can be classic,
or modern. Try them in your next project.

Have a wonderful week!

worn and white

With all these wonderful worn White cloth doll bodies you must have guessed

that it is Faded Charm's

WHITE WEDNESDAY

these charmers sit in my personal home office
and represent my closest family members
this is my blue eyed son

I purchased the 3 muslin dolls on Ebay and intended to make Santas but just loved them as they were; they are my Mom and two wonderful sisters. Big hazel eyed doll, is my twin brother...

and yes, the zany blue eyed brunette is me!

Have a wonderful week!

quilted chair?

Turning one of my upstairs bedrooms into a fun sewing room. A great room with lots of sun. Planning to keep the kaleidoscope of quirky colors and objects but in a slightly more orderly way. Vintage paint by number painting by my Dad, a childhood autographed penguin and a Little Red Rabbit book are treasures from my youth. A barkcloth covered folding screen and metal mannequin will join the mix and more...

Would really love to purchase this
retro looking crazy quilt chair
for my sewing room!
Too crazy?

all in white

Maybe you have noticed I recently opened a second shop called BRAYTON COTTAGE, where all treasures are in shades of wondrous white. A clean new and fresh way to start a new year. Has been a challenge making the white objects look interesting and stand out. What do you think so far?

Thrilled to be another treasury in this second and new shop. Thanks JudyRuth.

Happy Summer

Summer is passing by quickly, I hope you are having a wonderful time soaking it all in. Take time to sip a cold beverage under the blue sky and a charming chandelier surrounded by flowers.....

Mentioned last post how I love leopard print, pretty sure it started here with Pebbles Flintstone. Oh, that and my mom loved it, wore it and tastefully decorated our house with it.
Thanks Mom, you are my inspiration...

HUMPTY DUMPTY sat on a wall
HUMPTY DUMPTY was handmade by me….He was hand drawn on fabric. I have had him copywritted as he his my original one of a kind creation and has many projects planned for his future (not scrambled eggs). My Mom quilted my twin brother and I each a Humpty Dumpty when we were babies! Check out my Humpty http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22166868%20 on my Etsy shop and have a great day….

Juxtaposition

Another photo in the Kewpie series, a charming bisque necklace on an antique ceiling tin, could it be more vintaged chic! Love the contrast of the smooth ceramic against the aged and rusty tin.
