New jar labels-2104- Organizing my Kitchen!

Do you love my new chalkboard tags on my vintage jars?
The shelves above my fridge have always been a handy place to hold odds and ends. Know it is even better. I bought these vintage jars a few years ago at Brimfield antiques and I love them.

When I was preparing muffin batter about a year ago,  I thought I had added sugar to the batter but it was salt. Listen, I have a salt addition but even I could not eat those salty muffins!

I have been careful since then.  I think these labels will help! I found them at Target while Christmas shopping. Similar ones can be found online but for me the red border around the black label, meant for Christmas, are perfect for my kitchen where red abounds!

Now I am looking  for  places to put  labels, think it is addicting.I used actual chalk to write on the labels and I love the effect but there is also a pen that writes like chalk and is permanent.

Humpty Dumpty, the stuffed guy I made, sits on the middle shelf. It was made by first sewing a egg from cloth and then drawing on it with black marker. Kind of a an egg thing going on in my kitchen.
Come back for my more organizing ideas from my homestead.
I love my labels and no more mistaking ingredients!

Thank you for visiting the Homestead,
Karen

Sunny Days

Oh joy, it has stopped raining for several days now, but it is April in New England and it will return. Wouldn’t this little nook- like- entrance be a lovely spot to hang up your raincoat when you enter, especially a pink one! Those striking damask boxes are a perfect place to tuck away the mail, and it Looks like Mary Poppins arrived for tea and placed her umbrella to dry…

Eclectic charm

Raspberry, blueberry and vanilla combine to make an eclectic living room. A traditional sofa becomes Modern with a clean white fabric and a mix of pillows. I love a white couch on an oriental carpet! The charming Moroccan base to the end table and fresh contemporary art on the walls harmonize beautifully. Do not be afraid to mix styles and express yourself…..
Unusual raspberry hued parrot tulips in a simple glass drinking picture is an eclectic mix in itself.; can’t you picture the flowers on that Moroccan end table along with the lovely strawberry platter and luscious pomegranates? How exotic!

Neverland

Come sail away with me to Neverland, or fly. Don't you love this chandelier? What it is about the juxtaposition of an elaborate light fixture that glimmers in an otherwise understated room that works so well? Look close at those lovely metal chairs, love! All that glamour atop a simple painted floor. Oh........
