Time

This is such a perfect time right now
after the hustle and bustle of the holiday...

A chance to reflect on the time spent with family and friends,

postpone thinking about the new year and cherish the time right now.

sshh, Santa is coming...

ssshhh, Santa is coming....

the house is quiet, everyone is sleeping, lights are down low...

down the chimney he will come into my living room and yours...

there is something about an old house
( our homestead 213 years old)
at the holidays...

a Tuscan Christmas

Loved designing this Tuscan inspired kitchen and dining room for a very special client. Tuscan traditional style reflects her Italian roots and love of fine cooking while contemporary glass lighting fixtures create a great contrast.
Did you notice how the swirl of the knobs repeats in the iron swirl on the ceiling light fixtures?

The back splash in kitchen features a lovely traditional wall tile with modern metal tiles of grape reliefs inserted with red glass tile banding. Traditional with contemporary repeats...

Near the kitchen, atop an old roll top desk, a bird cage lamp repeats the design of the wrought iron cabinet knobs. A vignette of greens and snow have winter charm...

Into the dining area~ The contrast of the trio of contemporary lights against the old brick fireplace wall sums up the feel of the house: new/old and traditional/ contemporary.

Lisa helps with preparations and final touches, thanks...

hope you enjoyed the Tuscan kitchen with contemporary accents.
Merry Christmas!

Snowing in Massachusetts

It's snowing here in Massachusetts and it is beautiful!
Taking advantage of the time by cooking, crafting and spending time with my wonderful son Doyle and his lovely girl friend Ivy.

must see Christmas displays

A sea of Pointsettias- a sight to behold
to the Christmas farm we traveled
it wasn't even cold...

My dear sister Aggie, Krumpet and I
shopped for some gifts
when what did we spy...

architectural salvage and vintage
oh my!
Of course there was giftware
and thus we did shop...
but a day with my sister was the best gift of all.

Angel Wings

Angels spread their wings in many ways,
some forms subtle as a lovely whisper,
can you hear the soft rustle in these beautiful
paper imaginings
by
HoneySuckle Lane?

some extend their wings with a wider swish
then envelop you like a big cocoon
and make you feel like you could fly.

Christmas Past and Present

My bedroom present.

For the holiday season, vintage angels adorn the gilded framed dragonfly monoprint I created a few years ago in the studio. I love burgundy mixed with cream and

PINK...

My bedroom past.

Always crazy for Christmas, not much has changed. Love dark furniture with textures of velvet and chenille. I still have my musical Santa doll and the ornaments on my tree. And, I still love

Work Space Wednesday VI

Going to your studio everyday is a pleasure, the space reflects you. So much thought and effort went into the design and it shows. Eclectic at it's finest; it showcases so many of your favorite antiques, art, travel mementos and work supplies of course...

Multi picture groupings are so effective whether they are an eclectic mix or multiples of similar subjects in similar frames. Here I drink my latte at a local coffee house surrounded by a collection of photographs of Italy...

Adjoining the coffee house is an art gallery. This room featured apparel made from unexpected materials, for instance plastic bags, I love it!

An easy transition into multiple groupings of framed pieces is an ensemble of family photographs perfect up a stairway grand or small.
enjoy....
