Over the River and Through the Woods...

....to Grandmother's house we go...
Especially if she resides in a thatched cottage...
This beautiful OLD needlepoint depicts an enchanted country cottage. With its thatched roof and pastoral scenery it perfectly evokes the spirit of the upcoming holidays. Very shabby chic. Oh, to be so tattered and yet so lovely…

Hi Karen, what a precious piece of needlework! Love that English country cottage theme. I can just see that on a little pillow or in a sweet frame.
Hope you're having a good weekend!

I love needlework...that one brings warm thoughts doesn't it? If it's big enough a small stool cover. I like the colors too. We could loose those arts in the next generations due to computers and tv's. Oh and the patience that would take.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment... your too sweet, thank God we mellow out with age :)

It is a nice needlepoint and it does make me think of the song you quoted and great memories.

This is so you. . .Love the tattered part of the deal here. It makes the needlepoint so perfectly authentic and lived with and loved.
Great piece of work here.

oH, SO LOVELY. That would be beautiful as a frame or pillow! I love things that remind me of home and family. It helps remind us of the simple things of life that are so precious.

I just love this Karen! It reminds me a little of the house in my favourite Milly Molly Mandy books. Very British, but ever so sweet.
